About the artists:

Matthea Harvey is the author of three books of poems--Modern Life, Sad Little Breathing Machine, and Pity the Bathtub Its Forced Embrace of the Human Form. Her first children’s book, The Little General and the Giant Snowflake, illustrated by Elizabeth Zechel, was published byTin House Books in 2009. An illustrated erasure, titled Of Lamb, with images by Amy Jean Porter, was published by McSweeney's in 2011.

Jay Baron Nicorvo's poetry, fiction, nonfiction and criticism have appeared in The Literary Review, Guernica, The Iowa Review and The Believer. His debut poetry collection, Deadbeat, is forthcoming from Four Way Books. He's served on editorial staffs at Ploughshares and at PEN America, the literary magazine of the PEN American Center, and worked for the Council of Literary Magazines and Presses [clmp]. He teaches at Western Michigan University, where he's faculty advisor to Third Coast, and he lives in Battle Creek with his wife, Thisbe Nissen, their newborn son, and their chickens.
